Xperiencer Tour Brazil

The marvelous city of Rio is globally known for its tourist attractions. After all, in what other metropolis can tourists enjoy such a wide range of tourism choices, such as adventure tourism, consumer tourism, cultural tourism, ecological tourism, study tourism, sports tourism, ethnic tourism, event tourism, gastronomic tourism, business tourism, religious tourism, rural tourism, among others. Here we want to offer you Whale Watching tourism, one of the most fascinating excursions offered by Xperiencer Tour Brazil in the city.

Whale watching, besides being fascinating, is a true spectacle of nature. To observe the interaction between whales, watch these magnificent specimens swimming freely, and admire their incredible gravity-defying jumps in their natural habitat. It also stimulates reflection on the importance of marine fauna and flora,  contributing to the conservation of marine biodiversity.

The city of Rio de Janeiro is so wonderful that it also allows locals and tourists to observe whales. However, for this type of tourism to be carried out consciously, in order not to harm the whales’ life cycle, it is essential to follow some rules to not disturb the whales, such as:

  • Respecting restricted observation areas.
  • Boats should never intercept or even pursue whales, as this can scare them and trigger an aggressive reaction.
  • When approaching whales, the boat should move at a low and constant speed.
  • Avoid making unnecessary noise.
  • Observing whales from a safe distance of 100 meters for the safety of both people and whales.
  • Never approaching from behind the whales.
  • Never separating groups of whales or mothers and calves.
  • Turning off or putting the engines in neutral at least 100 meters away from the whales.
  • Respecting the “no-approach zone” so as not to scare the cetaceans or disrupt their natural behavior.
  • Respecting the natural behavior of the whales and allowing them to approach the boat if desired.
  • Not flying over whales with any type of aircraft at an altitude lower than one hundred meters above sea level.
  • Never attempting to feed the whales, as this is illegal and can harm the animals.
  • Never littering the sea.
  • Never swimming towards the whales.
  • Not touching or trying to physically interact with the whales.
  • Not staying near the whales for more than 30 minutes.
  • Never starting the boat engines without clearly sighting the whales on the surface.

Once again, our city surprises both residents and tourists with the opportunity to observe various whale species, such as: the Southern Right Whale, Humpback Whale and Bryde’s Whale, which visit our coast to feed and reproduce, during the months of June and November, as the water temperatures are warmer during these months, making it more suitable for species reproduction and calf nursing.

In addition to the Whale Watching tour, Xperiencer Tour Brazil also offers a boat trip to watch the sunrise or sunset at the Tijucas Islands, a unique and exciting experience that will surely enchant everyone, both Brazilians or foreigners.
