  • The collection has over 350.000 volumes, including rare works of Portuguese and Brazilian literature.

  • Founded in 1894, it features two aspects that catch the eye: the art nouveau decoration and the opaline stained glass windows.

  • It also serves as a cultural space, with art exhibitions, live music performances and special events.
