ITINERARY

Arrival Day:

• Transfer from São Luís to Barreirinhas (4 hours travel).

• Boat tour from Barreirinhas to Atins – Route: Preguiças River with 3 stops: Vassouras Beach, Mandacaru Village, Caburé Peninsula.

• Overnight at Pousada Atins.

Day 1: Atins – Baixada Grande

• 5 AM: Start of the crossing.

• 4×4 vehicle trip to the fisherman’s tent.

• Beginning of the 16 km hike through the dunes, approximately 5 hours of walking.

• Arrival at Baixa Grande, one of the oases in the middle of the park, where some of the most beautiful lagoons can be found.

• Lunch.

• Time allocated for rest until 4p.m, then visit to the lagoons and rivers in the area for sunset observation on the dunes.

• Dinner and overnight stay in the rendário at Baixa Grande.

Day 2: Baixada Grande – Queimada dos Britos

• Breakfast.

• Departure to continue the crossing at 8:30 a.m.

• 10 km hike through the dunes, about 3 hours walking, with stops for swimming in lagoons and taking photos.

• Arrival at Queimada dos Britos.

• Lunch.

• Rest until 4p.m. then visit the dunes with views for sunset.

• Dinner and overnight stay in the rendário at Queimada dos Britos.

Day 3: Queimada dos Britos – Betânia – Santo Amaro

• Breakfast.

• Departure to finalize the crossing at 4:30 a.m..

• 15 km hike through the dunes about 4 hours and 40 minutes of walking.

• This route is regarded as the most beautiful circuit in the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park.

• Visit to Lagoa do Junco, recognized by visitors as the most beautiful.

• 4×4 vehicle ride to Santo Amaro approximately 9 km (about 30 minutes).
